Property in Turkey: How to Sell Like a Local?

First step, is to post your property particulars on one or more of the Turkish language property portals. These are not local agents websites. These are portals that also provide direct communication capability (private messages etc) between the seller and the interested buyer. For foreigners that do not speak Turkish, mytapu provides these services, for a nominal fee.

Second step, is to instruct an Eksper Appraisal Report to provide to the buyers. Sellers do this because it saves time, and saves the work involved, of providing documents repeatedly to different buyers. The buyers are going to ask for the information anyway, and this is the fastest and cheapest way to get it to them. More important, the buyers trust the Eksper rapor, because the experts that prepared the report are licensed and bonded- and so if there are any problems arising in the future, the buyer has recourse to sue the expert. The experts typically work for large appraisal firms that produce thousands of reports every year, and have the insurance policies to cover the bonding.
