No, professional investors do not rely on advice from people without specific degrees, reputable experience, nor professional licenses. Independent- the advisor has no conflict of interests with the investor, but instead has the same mutually aligned interests. Not like agents and the lawyers and Citizenship advisors that collude together to defraud the investor by sharing hidden profits at the buyers’ expense.

Professional – the advisor has a caliber of knowledge, training, and experience to be qualified as an expert- it does not mean a person that has an education in pottery making working as a brain surgeon- yet unfortunately very few agents have any qualifications in specific real estate practice.

Advice- providing information is not providing advice: advice requires wide and deep comprehension of multiple dimensions applicable to a wide range of scenarios appropriate for client’s personal circumstances. This requires far more specialist knowledge, training and experience, than merely giving information.

The minimum qualifications required before an advisor may even begin on the path to becoming classified as an expert, are:

Education- Higher Academic Degrees in specific real estate disciplines…

Experience- professional working experience in a reputable institutional organisation… The minimum is 3 – 5 years, before embarking on the path to becoming an expert, for which 15 years is required, and 25 years is normal for a senior expert.

Licenses- regulatory licenses, usually in more than one jurisdiction and more than one area of practice.
